Today’s Master Bathroom is more than just a place to wash your hair and brush your teeth. A modern master bathroom is a representation of the design style of a home and the individuals who live within.
Master bathrooms have evolved from purely functional spaces to show-stopping rooms high on style and design. A stylish bathroom doesn’t have to come at the sacrifice of function. Marrying beauty and style in a master bathroom is possible!
We implemented a few simple design tools in our latest project to create a functional, stylish space.
Good storage is a key element of a functional bathroom. We added a tower on top of the countertop to maximize storage and allow the homeowners easy access to personal items. The base features more drawers and a large cabinet providing storage for additional bathroom necessities. The tower was also designed to be an extension of the custom framed mirror, creating a seamless look, which adds to the beauty of the vanity area.
The gorgeous vessel sink accented by the Delta Cassidy Vessel Sink Faucet in Chrome creates a statement on the vanity, adding a feminine touch to the bathroom while providing ease and functionality.
Another important element in creating a functional and beautiful master bathroom is choosing durable surfaces that can easily be cleaned. These homeowners love the look of marble, but were unsure how to use it in the master bathroom due to its tendency to etch and stain. We chose to use Carrara Marble Subway tile in the shower and for the free standing tub surround, and a Carrara look porcelain tile for the floor. The bathroom floor sees the most traffic and the porcelain tile provides the look of marble without the maintenance of natural stone.
The combination of the marble tub surround and porcelain floor tile provides a beautiful and practical foundation for the master bathroom.
The Delta Cassidy Tub Filler in Chrome perfectly complements the cooler tones in the finishes surrounding the gorgeous freestanding tub.
Incorporating practical and usable storage, choosing smart finishes and selecting the right fixtures allow you to create a master bathroom that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. With a little thought and planning, creating a custom master bathroom retreat is well within reach.
